Wild Card Games: Jaguars vs. Steelers

Many believe that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburg Steelers match-up will be physical.  This will be a toe-to-toe battle and it will be fun to watch.

The Steelers are formidable contender this year as their suffocating defense works well though we have to consider the Jaguars defense also.

I believe that the Steelers will emerge as a winner because of the experience of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.  I am giving the Steelers 17-14 victory.

Tom Brady, the AFC Offensive Player of the Week

New England quarterback Tom Brady Wednesday was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

He completed 32 of 46 passes for 399 yards with four touchdowns in last Sunday’s 34-13 win over Pittsburgh.

The 399 passing yards represented the second highest single-game total of his career, and his touchdown pass total rose to 45, the third-highest in a single-season in NFL history with Dan Marino and Peyton Manning.

He was joined in the AFC by Denver end Elvis Dumervil (defense) and Houston kick returner Andre Davis (special teams).

Dumervil made five tackles, tied a career-high with three sacks and forced one fumble in the Broncos’ 41-7 rout of Kansas City.

Davis returned the kickoff opening the second half for a career-long 97-yard touchdown in the Texans’ 28-14 win over Tampa Bay, giving the Virginia Tech grad two career kick returns — one on a kickoff and the other on a punt

Too much for the Steelers

The New England Patriots demolished the Number One defense of the Pittsburg Steelers 34-13 in a semi blow out game until the fourth quarter.

Tom Brady and company proved that their offense is excellent for any defense. He threw 4 touchdowns, two to Randy Moss. The gadget play which Brady passed to Moss and Moss fumbled it and threw it back to Brady who found Gaffney for a touchdown.

The Patriots are now 3 games into perfection.
